The cases
How long does a case take?
Most couples need 60 to 90 minutes, drinks included.
How hard are the cases?
Challenging, but fair. Every clue you need is in the box, so you’ll never need outside knowledge or an internet search. Expect at least one wrong turn. If you get properly stuck, the hint sheet walks you back on track one step at a time.
How many people can play?
Every case is designed for two. A group of three or four can play too; you’ll just be sharing the evidence.
Do we need to start from the first case?
No. Every case is a complete, standalone mystery. Join any month.
Is it scary or gory?
Not at all. Our cases are cozy mysteries in the classic tradition: clever, atmospheric and blood-free. Cases are written for adults and older teens (16+).
What do we need to play?
A table, the two of you, and a phone to scan the QR codes for the case playlist and the answer sheet. The drink pairing card lists everything for the cocktail and its alcohol-free version.
What if we get stuck?
Every box includes a hint sheet. Each part of the case (how, who and why) has three hints: a nudge, a bigger nudge, then the answer. Read only as far as you need.
Where do we find the answer?
Online, so nobody peeks by accident. When you’ve made your accusation, scan the QR code in your case file to open the answer sheet. It walks through what really happened and every clue that proves it.
Subscription & billing
How much does it cost?
$39.99 a case month to month. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
When will I be charged?
Today for your first case, then on the same date each billing period. Prepaid plans are charged once upfront for every case in the plan.
Do prepaid plans renew?
Yes, at the same rate, unless you turn off auto-renew in your account.
Can we skip a month or cancel?
Yes. Skip, pause or cancel anytime from your account, no phone calls required. Cancel before your renewal date and you won’t be charged again.
Can we buy a past case?
Members can add past cases to their next box while supplies last.
Shipping
When will my case arrive?
Your first case ships within 2 business days of subscribing. After that, each new case ships around the 1st of the month. You’ll get a tracking link by email every time.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship anywhere in the United States. Shipping rates are shown at checkout. International shipping is coming soon.
Is there alcohol in the box?
No. The drink pairing card gives you the recipes for a cocktail and an alcohol-free version; what you pour is up to you.
